So, if you want to be surrounded by approximately 50,000 men in uniform, here's what you need to know...
Who: Army v Navy
What: Babcock Trophy
When: Saturday 5th May @ 15.00 hours
Where: Twickenham
Why: Because we can!
helloo!!!!!!!!!!
The Army and the Royal Navy have been battling for rugby supremacy since 1878 when they first met at the Kennington Oval. The match became an annual battle of brawn and skill from 1907, and in 1920 the war moved to Twickenham - the home of English Rugby.
Last year the Royal Navy celebrated its centenary but was unable to break the stranglehold of the Army, which has now won a record five successive matches.
This year its the Army's turn - the Army Rugby Union celebrates its centenary. Can the Army celebrate in style and lift the Babcock Trophy for the sixth consecutive year and break all records? Or will the Royal Navy spoil the party?
hellooo!!
The main match kicks off at 3.00pm in the magnificent Twickenham Stadium. This is preceded by the Combined Services U23 v English Universities U23 at 12pm, and also the final rounds of the Emerging Schools Rugby Festival.
hellooo!!
And if you prefer your men a little more mature and discerning, then the Army Vets v the Royal Navy Vets [Ancient Mariners] KO is at 10.30am at Kneller Hall, just behind Twickenham!
And we can guarantee that there will be more than just a couple of thousand servicemen making their presence felt in west London!
