The atmosphere at the Babcock Challenge, where the forces meet on the rugby pitch, was electric this Saturday at Twickenham. The rugby however was not and four penalties were the only highlights in the game.

The sides were quite evenly matched but the Army had the upper hand and the score line was a fair one. There were a few exciting breaks from both sides but they disappointingly ended in handling errors - very frustrating for teams and fans alike.

However, in true rugby style, the beer flowed as much as the rain and nobody seemed to mind as they celebrated this annual event in style and all went home having had a great day out.

Lizi and Sue Wharton enjoyed the day as they were the winners of the RFTG competition for two tickets to the game. They also received a RFTG T-shirt each and will be wearing them with pride when they return to their club, Beckenham RFC, where Lizi plays and Mum get's involved in the management side.  Beckenham have got a great website - check it out - Beckenham Rugby
