Wales 12 (5) South Africa 34 (22)

The South African boys proved they are worth the title of World Champions at the weekend with a convincing win over a much more impressive Welsh side. Prince William, looking more like his Dad these days, met the players before the match and then presented the winning captain, John Smit, with the trophy named after the Prince himself.

Little Emma is not looking too impressed though as the cup does not seem to be containing anything edible. However, at least she won't loose her Noo Noo as it is firmly pinned to her Boke jersey!

50,000 supporters at the Millennium Stadium saw Wales put up a strong fight against the visitors and they dominated for large parts of the match but they just didn't have the finishing touch which the Springboks have perfected over the past 18 months or so.

James Hook missed an easy three points in the first half, but he had just had his dislocated finger put back in place on the side of the pitch (ouch!) so we will let him off. Gavin Henson (avec new hairdoo below) proved that fatherhood suits him and put in a strong performance which must have been difficult with so many eyes watching him.

Charlotte Church (right, Gavin's Partner) watched on from the stands and seems to have enjoyed the occasion

At least Wales now have something to build from following such a disappointing World Cup. We will see when Six Nations comes around early next year.
