RFTG 'on the spot' reporter Preeti Virdee recently met up with Bob at a pre season meet to find out what us girls really want to know.

Why do you love Rugby?
I love going to work with a bunch of lads. I get to take my aggression out and do what I want

Do you see yourself as a celebrity?
No, not at all. I don’t get recognised in London, but more in Dublin

Do you have a big female fan-base that you know of?
No

Why do you think girls love rugby players?
Genuinely, apart from looks, we’re very grounded and good fun

How long and how often do you train?
Monday to Friday 9 to 5. But we have one day off during the week and maybe once on the weekend. We have 3 to 4 sessions a day

Do you use male beauty products?
No, except Gillette After Shave Balm

What's your favourite food?
Italian

What do you eat on a typical day?
Breakfast: Muesli with fruit For example, Lunch: Tuna pasta Dinner: Chicken, vegetables and potatoes for dinner. As a treat, ice cream.

How do to get rid of nerves before a match?
I don’t get nerves, I just get excited

Where do you call home?
Maynooth, Co. Kildare

Did you ever play football (soccer)?
No

We have to accept it. It’s the same in Ireland.

Did anyone else in your family play professional Rugby?
No. My brother was very good but that was before the professional era.

What is your club nickname?
Big Bob

Outgoing, emotional, funny, loyal

Are you superstitious?
Yes. I always run out second and must do the same pre-match routine.
