RFTG Lisa using her own wonderful style, gets us close and personal to the gorgoeus Nick Evans.

I want to begin by saying thanks for taking the time to do this Nick. Especially on a peronal note. (I didn't get to personally ask you a question having won a shirt for voting you player of the month for December) now I get to ask you a few so thanks very much.

So, kinda obvious first question I suppose but, what do you see as the biggest differences playing here in England compared to that in New Zealand?

1- Length of season- it is a marathon season compared to short competitions in NZ, so we have to manage ourselves well.

2- Weather - winter here is brutal, I never had a game called off in NZ & never played in snow. It is regular occurrence here.

3- Faster paced game in NZ.

Are the supporters much different or just as passionate both sides of the world?
I would have to say the supporters over here are more passionate at club level. The Stoop fans are there rain, hail or shine. But for the All Blacks the whole country stops. Iif they lose everyone takes it to heart.

The All Blacks are probably the most famous rugby team on the planet. It must have been a huge honour to wear the black jersey.  What's your roudest/fondest memory playing for the Blacks?
It was my first test and receiving my jersey from Sir Brian Lahodre (famous All Black) & getting on in front of home crowd Dunedin was special. That’s when my dream came true.

A great *All Back* tradition is *The Haka*.  Did you have to learn it or did you know it already?   (know there are variations) Now translate it please?  (LoL) Seriously, in a nutshell, what is the jist of what's being said?
I knew the old one growing up and watching on TV. Then I  learned  the new one.  Because I am white I usually stood at the back and tried to look scary.  It is basically about pulling the strength from your ancestors in the earth and challenging the opposition (I think).

Do you have a career highlight to date, either since playing here or in NZ?  (As a Quins supporter for me *that drop goal* v Stade stands out.)
Obviously the two games against Stade were amazing, the first one in Paris was more special as no one gave us a hope in front of 70 000 thousand people – I have never heard so much silence in a stadium.

How do you spend your days off?  What do you like to do to relax?
I try and get out on the golf course when I can. If it's winter I enjoy playing guitar and learning new songs.

I understand you’re a keen fisherman. One of your nicknames is ‘Snapper’ (although at Quins folks call you NEV). Have you done much fishing since being in the UK?
Not a lot to be honest. It's just not the same as in NZ, we are spoilt in NZ for having probably the best fishing in the world (me being bias of course)

Do you think you have a lot of female supporters?
HaHa! Tough question!  Honestly?  I don’t know. I don't see myself as a flashy or out there person  so I probably don't but you never know.  My mum supports me so there's one!

(Lisa notes she is a huge supporter of NEV so there’s at least two)

What's your idea of a romantic evening?
I like to go out for dinner, especially in London. There are so many great places to eat.  In NZ though, going out on the boat with a packed dinner under the moonlight goes down well.

(Lisa notes: that boat trip sounds lovely. When ya taking me NEV? lol)

What's the craziest thing a fan has ever given you or asked you?
You have to love being given a baby to hold for a photo when the baby definitely does not want to leave it's mum and cries all the time.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?
X-Ray Vision

Do you have any pre-match rituals?  Are you superstitious like that?
I don't really.  I do have a favourite hat which I like to wear to games, but other than that it's more routines I go through before games.

If you won the lottery what would you spend the money on?
The first thing would be a first class flight to Hawaii where I would lie on the beach and think about what to do with it.

Tell us something we don't know about you?  ie hidden talents, bad habit, exotic pet.
I am actually also a physiotherapist by trade.  One day will probably work as one.  And I am very fussy when it comes to food, I know what I like and tend to stick to that.

Finally, have you any words of wisdom you'd like to share and pass on?
NEVER eat yellow snow!

Thank you very much Nick.  Just a few quickie questions before I let you go.
